Export and Import feature

The aim of this feature is to facilitate the import and export of System Data across tenants in a CarbonSig multi-tenant software.

Export Process system

Users can export process system templates and associated data into a JSON file.

The export option is available in the hover menu of the Process System tab.

Users can export either the template alone or along with data if the system contains any.

Objects, LCIs, EFs, and the relations between Objects and LCIs will be exported.

Local LCIs, EFs, and Ecoinvent LCIs will not be exported.

CAPs will not be exported; only Objects related to CAPs will be included.

Import Process System

Users can also import process systems using the appropriate JSON file.

The Import button will open a browser window where the user can locate the appropriate JSON file for importing. If the user already has some entities such as Objects, LCIs, or EFs, these entities will be flagged with an asterisk and won’t be imported, as they already exist in the local Library. If there is a different connection between the Object and LCI than in the current Tenant, the import connection won’t be imported. This edge case will be resolved in the next sprint with the new logic of Object-LCI relation.

Additional notes:

When importing, the system will automatically import just in the current workspace.
